Office Manager

Larry has been with our local chamber for over 12 years and has grown the membership from less than 100 members (back in 2010) to over 350 members. One early task was to work with local Bryan Rempel with Putonium Web Design to build a completely new website to ensure that local sales and services were searchable online within our region. Another equally valuable resource for such an isolated community in northern Alberta was the introduction and development of a printed local directory for our members which is updated and mailed throughout Mackenzie County each year. Both of these resources draw in several new members each year as they have become a valuable asset in which businesses, non-profit organizations, local clubs, etc. are found by customers and clients needing their products and services. La Crete & Area Chamber of Commerce also includes the surrounding farming community areas of Buffalo Head Prairie, Bluehills and Blumenort so if you are interested in joining our Chamber, give Larry a call/text: 780.285.4409 or drop by our office: 10013-101 Avenue Unit#203 in the Friesen Accounting building.

Larry together with staff organize our Annual General Meeting along with our Business & Community Awards Dinner, the local Spring Trade Show, Collaborate with other local non-profits for Canada Day Celebrations, our Chamber Member’s Golf Tournament, we organize and fundraise for Community Fireworks together with our local Pyrotech: Ed Froese, and Moonlight Madness which is a shop local campaign leading up to the Christmas Season.

Administrative Assistant

Our admin assistant is here to greet you at the door. As we are also the La Crete Tourist Information Centre our staff also welcome visitors to our community or answer questions of tourists who are just passing through and are looking for accommodations and one of our great places to dine. We have many free brochures for our area, the rest of Alberta and a few for other Canadian destinations.

Another aspect of this position is to maintain our online and in office “Job Boards” and assist with other employment needs such as helping create or update resumes.
